Western District Commercial Robbery (Arrest Update) - Odenton 22-729028

On August 19, 2022, just after midnight, officers responded for a report of a robbery that just occurred at the Giant Food at 1155 Annapolis Road in Odenton. During their investigation, officers learned that the suspect was able to remain inside the store after closing. As one employee neared the store office, they were approached by the suspect and forced to open the office door. The suspect pushed the employee around the office and demanded cash. After obtaining an undetermined amount of cash, the suspect fled the store on foot. Through investigative means, CID Robbery detectives were able to identify a suspect in this case and, on August 26, 2022, arrested and charged Warren Nathaniel Maynard, 23, of Columbia, for his involvement in this and the below-listed commercial robberies:

Eastern District Fatal Pedestrian Crash - Arnold 22-729878

On August 25, 2022, at approximately 8:50 p.m., Eastern District officers responded to southbound Ritchie Highway at Arnold Road for a crash involving a pedestrian. The investigation revealed that a pedestrian crossed the southbound lanes of Ritchie Highway against the traffic signal. The pedestrian was wearing dark, non-reflective clothing and walking from east to west from the median when he was struck in the right lane by a 2016 Ford Focus. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by Anne Arundel County Fire Department. The driver of the Ford remained at the scene and later complained of minor back and neck pain. His family members arrived on scene and transported him to Anne Arundel Medical Center for further treatment. The victim was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine his exact cause of death.

  Northern District Carjacking - Glen Burnie 22-729881

On August 25, 2022, at approximately 8:50 p.m., officers responded for a report of a carjacking in the unit block of Mary Lane in Glen Burnie. Five victims were seated in a parked vehicle when three unknown males armed with handguns approached them and ordered the victims out of the car. The males also forced each victim to turn over their personal property. The suspects then fled in the victim’s gold 2011 Chevrolet Impala. The victims ran from the area to seek assistance. The vehicle was later recovered unoccupied on Plymouth Lane in Glen Burnie.No injuries were reported as a result of this incident. Northern District detectives are investigating and ask anyone with information to contact 410-222-6135.
