Professional Tool Reviews for Pros

Carhartt products tend to emphasize rugged flexibility, and the Crowley Jacket isn’t going to break from tradition. It features heavyweight softshell construction that fights off the wind, cold, and rain. And, with Carhartt’s new embroidery service, you can brand your team’s jackets with your company logo.

We actually used this service and ran the Pro Tool Reviews logo through the Carhartt Company Gear (CCG) embroidery process. The end result was a jacket that displayed our name proudly on the left chest. The quality of stitching looked solid, and the service works for a wide variety of tops and outerwear.

The 13.9-ounce Carhartt Crowley Jacket features 90% nylon/10% spandex construction. This lends the jacket a high degree of flexibility (which Carhartt calls its Rugged Flex stretch technology).

Carhartt has also implemented two more of their proprietary technologies into the Crowley Jacket. Rain Defender durable water repellent (DWR) keeps you dry and flexible in light rainfall. Meanwhile, the Wind Fighter tech, like the name implies, fights off gusts of wind so you don’t have to subject yourself to the will of the weather.

Additionally, the Carhartt Crowley Jacket features a full-front zipper with a chin protector. Adjustable Velcro cuffs and a drawcord-adjustable hem cinch up the sleeves and waist for a custom fit. A large inner document pocket can also keep your contracts and spreadsheets relatively safe in inclement weather as well.

We love both the look and fit of this jacket. The Crowley comes true-to-size and has the look of a much more expensive coat. The material does a great job resisting water and wind while staying supple. That means you can wear it without feeling like you’re wearing either a heavy jacket or a wetsuit.

We love the internal pockets and the zippers stand up to abuse when used with work gloves. Carhartt also included pull strings to make them easy to access without looking. The exterior pocket works great for sunglasses and your wallet, while the inner pocket holds any number of items. We could fit an entire 8-1/2 x 11 folder inside!

The softshell jacket also lays nicely along the back, with a slight curve at the back. While the collar does provide some wind protection, it does it without being stifling or in the way

The Carhartt Crowley Jacket can also have embroidery added to the lapel, chest, or sleeves. Carhartt will scale your logo to fit the selected location, with the maximum width set at 3.5″.

Adding a logo costs around $5 for each location and piece of clothing. You also pay a one-time $50 setup fee.

You’ll have to order a minimum of 6 units of the same garment style and color to qualify for the service. And, it’s important to note that adding embroidery to your Carhartt gear will add an extra 14 days to the processing time.

The Carhartt Crowley Jacket is available in Navy, Black, and Charcoal. For small through 2XL sizes, the Crowley will run you $99 each. To move up into the extended sizes available (3XL, 4XL, LT, XLT, 2XLT, 3XLT, 4XLT), you can tack another $10 onto the price.

You can pick up the Carhartt Crowley Jacket from any number of retailers, both online and in-store. To have your jackets embroidered, however, you’ll have to order directly from the Carhartt Company Gear store.
