GolfMagic was fortunate enough to test out some of the latest tops from the high-performance golf clothing company, and we landed on five that ticked all the right boxes when it comes to waterproof and windproof golf jackets in 2021. 

With temperatures dropping fast and rain seemingly the forecast for most of our days right now, especially over here in the UK, we headed out for a round of golf sporting some of Galvin Green's latest and best outerwear - and they passed with flying colours.

Colours: Black, Grey GG says: Our premium full-zip waterproof golf jacket in GORE-TEX C-knit™ fabric. The shoulders and lower back are reinforced with extremely durable TECHSTEEL™ fabric that easily handles the abraison when carrying the golf bag. The GORE-TEX super stretch fabric is placed at center back and elbows to increase the comfort even more. Features include carbon printed zippers, chest tabs and shapes sleeves.The neat detailed print as front and back shoulders give the jacket its exclusive look.

GM says: Looks so smart, felt really comfortable and it most importantly performed in both the wind and wet. Felt super dry even when the heavens opened for a solid half our out there. Love how the garment fits fairly tight to the body, no whispy noises when swinging like the old days when waterproof jackets were an absolute nightmare to wear. Pricey yes, but this one will stand the test of time for you and allow you to enjoy your golf in the worst possible conditions.  RRP: £449 Website

Colours: Red, Black, White, Navy, Cool Grey GG says: This 100% waterproof GORE-TEX Paclite® stretch jacket is characterized by its lightness, extreme breathability and packability. The stretch gives you full freedom of movement. If you're a serious player, then this is the jacket for you!

GM says: One of our favourite waterproof golf jackets of the season. We wore this one in red and it's a belter. Once again looks incredibly smart with a dark pair of waterproof trousers and we found it be very light on the body, without sacrificing performance. Folds up nicely into the golf bag side pocket, and barely weighs anything which is great when you do want to take it off for a bit. Superb windproof properties, as well as protecting you from the rain. This is one serious piece of kit and the price is reflective of that. Well worth a closer look if you want one of the best waterproof golf jackets in the game right now.  RRP: £289

Colours: Sharkskin, Black GG says: The ultimate half-zip 100% waterproof golf jacket in GORE-TEX non-stretch fabric with a mesh lining for added warmth, breathability and moisture management. Special features include rain channels on the sleeve ends, back pocket, plus adjustable width on the chest and bottom edge.

GM says: Another cracker from Galvin Green and very similar properties to the one above in all fairness in terms of warmth and water repellent features. Loved the rain channels on the sleeve ends and back pocket, and it also fit perfectly to the body once again. That is definitely one of the key ingredients when it comes to Galvin Green tops - they encourage freedom of movement and fit the body superbly well without restricting your swing in any way. The Sharkskin grey version is really stylish. Another one to take a serious look at this season.  RRP: £289

Colours: Sharkskin, Navy, Black GG says: Men's windproof full-zip jacket in stylish design details such as diagonal padding on the chest and across the back in combination with soft stretchy INTERFACE-1™ fabric. Partial ribb combined with padding at sleeve cuff. A Nice V-shape at center front makes the jacket stay nicely at the hip during movement.

GM says: Perfect option for when you're out in the wind. You don't quite get the exact same waterproof properties like the ones above in this list, but it still is water repellent in the light rain. This one is more of an all-out windstopper though that performs fantastic with your swing, and keeps you incredibly warm for the duration of the round. Another really smart top from Galvin Green that will see you the envy of your playing partners.  RRP: £249

Colours: Black, Navy, Bluebell, Sharkskin, Green GG says: Men's windproof half-zip jacket with a regular fit for greater comfort and top performance in the most challenging weather conditions. Minimal block design with shaped sleeves to make sure you feel comfortable on the golf course.

GM says: Probably the best value for money jacket in the lineup here. It's a totally windproof top, perfect for Autumn/Winter golf, and has water repellent features to protect you in light rain. It's a really comfortable garment, looks fantastic, and it has superb breathability. If you want a top warm golf jacket for the season for less than £200, then this is the one for you.  RRP: £189
